Sonnet 66,
Translated through
a house.
The D&AD brief was to re-illustrate one of Shakespeare’s Sonnets in an architectural fashion.
The approach I took resulted in a book bound with a pillow case as its cover. The idea for the book was inspired by my late grandma who loved Shakespeare and often took me to the theatre. When she died I photographed her house and placed quotes from my chosen sonnet (Sonnet 66) throughout the house in different ways. Printed at the bottom of a fabric jewellery case, etched into a walking stick etc... the book was bound using an old pillow case of hers, symbolising the affects the sonnets lines had on her conscience.
