About 2 months ago myself Paul Barton and Karolin Schnoor completed a website project for the Hidde Van Seggelen Gallery. The website is ticking over nicely and there are some brilliant pieces of work by the artists represented by Hidde Van Seggelen in Chelsea London. Some of these are featured above but you can view more by clicking here.

I already loved Arcade Fire and their new album ‘The Suburbs‘ before I stumbled upon this brilliant interactive video by Chris Milk and I love them even more now! Incorporating the viewers own home town imagery with the Arcade Fire track ‘We Used To Wait’ playing over the top really makes the subject matter and lyrics much more relevant. Visit: http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com/ to see what I’m on about.

I’ve been a fan of the work created by creative agency ‘Love‘ in Manchester for quite some time. Some of the founders of ‘Love’ have now founded a new agency named: ‘Music‘. Perhaps this is one reason why I’ve really taken a liking to the work produced by ‘Music‘. Music is such a brilliant name for a creative agency when you think about it, as design like music is just another way of conveying something like an idea, feeling or emotion. I really like how music’s site works too, it’s like a big wall of design to navigate around. Take a look at their work here: www.designbymusic.com

Aside from being an absolutely gorgeous site design Andreas Lutz’s website is also impressive because the user can interact with it through voice and gestures. Using your webcam you can use hand movements to navigate through his portfolio of music, site design and games. You can also use voice activation to navigate from one section to another for example by saying “music” you can be taken to the music section. This site is just really impressive, check it out!

It’s three in the morning and I’ve just stumbled upon La Roux’s website, which I think is awesome by the way! I found it through http://www.waste-creative.com/ a creative agency based in London. The look and feel of La Roux’s website really reminds me of Bladerunner the movie and especially the game. For quite some time I was obsessed with that film. The amazingly seedy and grimy scenes of future city life are truely amazing. The game which was based on the movie really captured the dystopian atmosphere with excellent animated scenes painstakingly recreated from the movie with brilliant sound effects too. Anyway back to La Roux, when I think about it La Roux’s style really ties in well with Bladerunner’s 80′s perspective on the future. Everything from La Roux’s fashion styles, album artwork and even her haircut seem to be a more popy take on an 80′s view of futuristic, does that make sense? Anyway I think the main reason I like the site so much is because it really capture’s the ‘bladerunneresque’ atmosphere very well. www.laroux.co.uk

Here’s an interesting way to use the exciting new world of micro blogging created by twitter. This website displays twitters from a selection of top designers. I’ve found it great for picking up links to some great websites and work, as well as getting a little insight into the world of other designers. I imagine this idea would be just as useful if applied to other subjects. Visit the site here: http://www.tweeeeet.com/

Although its been a while since I purchased anything from a charity or vintage shop, I do love the idea of it, and tend to think these shops look ace! Above is a vintage store I’ve stumbled upon with an effective way of displaying their latest products. The site clearly has a very clean and minimal modern feel to it which in this case houses the vintage clothing photographs in a very visualy pleasing way. It could be siad that the photoboxes are reminiscent of polaroid photos. However aside from this the site as steered clear of obvious retro or vintage references and I think having the montage of vintage photographs tiled across the center stage is an honest and exciting way of displaying them. As the photographs are full of fun and cool content this site lets them speak for themsleves. The site can be found at: http://shop.marketpublique.com
